Ashley Casperite is a former tech employee working to turn her 2023 layoff into a line on her Wikipedia page. She brings a self-described “frenetic vulnerability” to the table after chasing health insurance for the decade following film school.
A prolific, expeditious writer at the intersection of multiple identities, Ashley delivers character-driven stories with emotionally resonant cores (#buzzwords). Her first-ever festival submission—psychological thriller short, Retro—was a Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival. Her queer love letter to the romcom, The Sidekick, has had finalist and semifinalist placements in diversity-centric festivals (so far). And her surrealist puppet dramedy pilot, Season Four, was recently praised by a Black List reader for its “one-of-a-kind-premise” and “[her] singular voice.”
Ashley lives with her partner and two (real, live) fluffy freeloaders in New York City. She is actively seeking representation.
